It’s amazing what a black pair of skinny jeans and oversized shades can do to a rather chill and relaxed sweatshirt. The intensity of cobalt blue and black for me is out of this world. I am such a sucka for the two colors. I’ve been wanting a pair of black skinny jeans ever since I ripped open my brand new J brand jeans a couple of years ago, (still sad about that) but this time I wanted them to be high waisted. I have no problem saying these babies definetly filled that void. My sweatshirt, on the other hand, has been in my closet for years, it was a wacky DIY project with white fabric paint (around the neckline), some scissors and a little 80’s love that transformed it into this off the shoulder, Florida sweatshirt. It’s uber comfy and was the perfect weekend ensemble. Love.
P.S. One thing about dark black denim is how prone it is to lint. Ugh, I guess I should’ve kept my lint brush on deck, hence the lint on my pants. oops.
Have a great day lovelies and thanks for stopping by!!
There are a few pics that were meant to be outfit posts that will probably never see the light of day but then sometimes while scrolling through pics, I may revisit or stumble upon old ones that instantly brings a pleasant nostalgic moment to mind. I remember this day vividly, my friend and I were fooling around filming a short film (just for fun) with my camera and looking for something cold and tasty for a hot Summer’s day, hence my unintentional dewy look. Ha! Watching pics like this brings a bitter sweet feeling because it reminds me that you can never get that moment back; (but thank God for pictures) however you can always reminisce great memories. It also makes me yearn for Summer even more. I’m so ready for warmer weather.
LeaftTv brought us a cool video with 6 ways to boost your kitchen’s decor. I really can’t get enough of these short inspiring videos! Check it out, I’m sure there’s at least one tip in there you could use. 😉
After several visits to Home Depot, Joann Fabrics, Michaels and other misc stores, I have finally put up my never ending DIY project to store most of my jewelry. Not to spend too much time on the trials and errors of this project, but lets just say my tool box has expanded in the last week and it’s looking like a little mini hardware store. I went through 3 types of nails to get this thing right. I am the worst when it comes to prepping, so I sort of skipped the part of measuring the thickness of my frame and accidentally put holes STRAIGHT through the border. Let’s just say about ten. SUPER FAIL. But thankfully, this glorious white high gloss spray saved the day a couple of times. sheesh.
Okay, so on to what you’ll need for this project. And let me just stop for a second to say that this was one of my hardest DIY projects so far, but easily one of my most useful and functional to date, so I’m not complaining too much. I followed this DIY to get the steps and tools I needed: high gloss spray paint, nails, hammer, vintage or new frame, push pins, fabric (loved this chevron print), cork roll, cardboard, and stapler. After all of the hammering, pushing and spraying…I was blessed with this pretty cool frame to hang all of my costume jewelry like necklaces, earrings and even brooches. I can now see them all on display and not have to forget what jewelry I have or am missing. You should def try it!
P.S. After linking back to the blog I was mostly inspired by, (I used a couple of DIY styles for reference) I just realized her print is chevron too. Great minds think alike…lol. I plan to switch out my fabric at some point though, maybe when the season changes again. We’ll see.
Well thanks for stopping by lovelies! Have a great day!
With the Madewell event around the corner, I had to grab a jean jacket to flaunt for the event but of course I was too eager to wait to wear it…smh, so I had to bust this bad boy out. Thursday seems so long from now and today had pretty good “jean jacket” weather, so I decided to rock it and paired it with my turban which has been stored away and pushed waaayyy down in one of my unpacked boxes. It was good to wear something so traditional like a turban with something more casual and hip. I still have no clue what I’m wearing at the Madewell event this Thursday but best believe I will be donning this dope jean jacket. I love it oh so much. *insert googly eyes here* 🙂
Alright guys, on my way back out for a birthday party for my girl Lizzie aka Liz!! lol Talk to you soon!
I recently ordered a pair of Elizabeth & James sunnies last week – my first pair of eyewear amongst many for this Spring/Summer Season – and they should be arriving soon (SUPER PUMPED :)). My excitement has me ready for more styles and shapes, even the more whimsical and quirky ones. I know we all love classic aviators but having some fun with an unexpected color or trend would spring us (pun intended) more into the playful chicness of those bad ass sunglasses we’ve seen on the Spring Runway shows like Karen Walker, Marc Jacobs and 3.1 Phillip Lim. It’s true, we can wear share sunnies all year around but it’s something more appealing about them in the hotter days. Wouldn’t you agree?
Check out some of my favorite brands right now. They are all keeping my eyes glued for more sun blockers…lol.
Dreaming of pretty beaches with soft sand, blue skies and water, sunny days with some cool shades and a refreshing mai tai to go with it. Yes…a girl is having a moment right now. A moment that turned into a desired Resort mini lookbook. I couldn’t resist my fantasies and I pray that they come true sooner than later. All of these items would be quickly thrown in my bag for a much needed vacay. Can I get an amen?
